4 Days!

T-minus 4 days until I start my aerial journey from Minneapolis to London.

Pre-Departure Checklist:

Receive my UK Entry Letter? Check.
Figure out MoneyGrams to load my ISIC card? Check.
Acquired an unlocked phone with UK phone number? Check.
Perform the last show of Second Sleigh last night? Check.
Write out medical bills related checks for my Mom to send in the mail while I'm gone? Check.
Start layering the clothes foundation of my suitcase? Check.
Wrap gift for my host family? Check.
Wrap gift for my friends who've invited me to stay with until Sept? Check.
Continue the endless itinerary for my stay in the UK? Check.
Consume what seems to be all 11,842 MN lakes worth of tea in the span of a few days? Check.

And so on, and so forth. It's still never ending, the checklist. Just within the past few minutes, I reminded myself that I needed one more baggage label, and a huge ziplock bag to put my loose socks in.

Amongst all this, I am listening to my Tater Tot Casserole Leftover playlist. Essentially, this playlist is full of songs that didn't make it to my Minneapolis -> Chicago playlist, or my 9 hour long Chicago -> London playlist, but are still amazing in their own right, thus the name.

Just like you never know what to expect from leftovers, you never fully know what to expect from life.

But, good or bad, getting to the next point opens you to new things.

For example, if you dance to David Guetta's "Turn Me On" in the middle of the kitchen, your cat might look at you as if he's counting down to when you keel over so he can have you for dinner.

Or like learning that shiny purple wrapping paper is not the best material to use, but because it's so fabulous, you don't really care.

Little things like that.

Til next time, lovelies!

  2. Very! It'll still feel unreal until I land, I think... that's when it'll fully sink in.
